The Forfar 10K is the towns main event in August and now attracts fields in excess of 300 runners. The race was originally known as the Maggie Storey 10K but after years of loss making and a charity who would not underwrite the running costs of the event which saw club members vote to sever ties with the charity. 2001 saw the Club sponsor the race and underwrite the costs, with efforts from club members and volunteers has seen the race grown steadily.

This years race - 15 August 2010
A warm and sunny day welcomed entrants to Forfar Farmington FC's new club house. With a shortage of football pitches in the area, runners had the pleasure of watching a match whilst waiting for the post race results (maybe we should book this for next year?).
246 competed on the day with Corstorphine AC taking the first three places Grant Wilkie (34:28), Byran Clark (34:55) and Christpher O'Brien (35:19). First lady was Edel Mooney - Lothian RC (38:35), followed by Jill Knowles - Scottish Prison Service AC (39:47) and Chloe Cox - Lothian RC (40:08). First local male was Grant Reynolds (38:02) from Forfar, and local female Pamela Gillian (48:19).
Well done to all those who competed, it certainly looked warm out there and definately one of those days where you wouldn't mind a spot of rain. The club wishes to thank all the volunteers especially the Noranside Team and all our sponsors who help to make this one of the most popular races in the area.
Post race BBQ at the Rugby club was welcomed, although I've never mixed cake, mango coulis and panna cotta with my drinks before. Just as we thought it was safe, the words 'Rounders quick get downstairs and into a team' hailed across the bar. Still don't know who won and totally failed to find the U16 competing with adults Forfar / Geman rules for rounders?
