Clova 1/2 Marathon - information sheet

Race Numbers to be collected on the day.
If you failed to fill in your age on the entry form you are classed as aged 18.

Registration will be open from 9:30am in the community hall, and will be clearly sign posted. Race numbers must be worn on the front of your vest / jacket / bin bag. Weather is changeable so please come prepared for rain, snow and / or sunshine.

The START: Directions will be posted to the start area and all participants should be at this point no later than 11:55am. Please line up as per your estimated finishing time.

Changing Accommodation: Changing facilities are limited so we request that where possible you arrive at the start already changed. Male changing will take place in the community hall, female changing will take place in the common room of the Hotel Bunkhouse. The organisers will accept no liability for loss of, or damage to, competitors’ property. There are no shower facilities apart from whatever the weather throws at us on the day.

Car Parking: Please car share where possible. Upon arrival at the hotel please follow the directions of the car park marshals, space is very limited. To help, we request that you share transport where ever possible. Cars will be directed to the hotel car park and 4x4’s will be directed to the field in front of the hotel.

Route & Water Station: The route is accurately measured and follows an anticlockwise loop of the glen. Marshalls/Police will be at junctions, so please obey their instructions. Please run on the left hand side of the road each mile is marked accurately. Three water stations are provided at regular intervals.

First Aid: St. Andrews Ambulance Association will provide medical help on route should you need it. If you are unable to finish, try to walk to a refreshment station or wait for our sweep vehicle, which will transport you back safely.

The Finish: The finish is at the entry to the hotel car park. Please follow the marshall’s instructions at the finish this will help race officials to record the correct order and times. Please ensure your number is clearly visible.

Refreshments: Stovies will be available at the finishing area / community hall depending on the weather. Tea and coffee is available from the hotel for a small fee.

Results: Results will be published at www.forfarroadrunners.co.uk within 48hours.

Prizes: We aim to start the presentation in the lounge area at 2:30pm or within 5 minutes of the last competitor finishing. Prizes will be awarded to the following categories; M, F, MV, FV, MSV, FSV, and the following male and female - 60+, 70+, Team prizes (3 per club) and DD8 category.

Massage: Will be available pre and post race in the registration hall

Post Race: You are all welcome to attend post race ceilidh in the Clova Hotel in the evening. A free bus will depart Forfar at 7:15pm and pick up in Kirriemuir depart Clova at Midnight and drop off in Kirremuir and Forfar. Ceilidh start time is approx 20:30. Please contact us well in advance if you plan to use the bus service.
