Training

The club has two main sessions and a trial for Monday nights to host alternative training which can be Speed work, Hill Work or Circuit training. Wednesday evening leaving approx. 18:30 (turn up for 18:20) and Sunday 8:30am from the Lochside Leisure Centre or 9:00am from Ivy Terrace.

  • 23rd: 19:00 - Alternative training - speed/hill session meet at Orchardbank
  • 25th: 18:30 - Town Route - Lunanhead direction
  • 29th: 19:00 - Alternative training - speed/hill session meet at Orchardbank

  • 6th:   19:00 - Alternative training - speed/hill session meet at Orchardbank
  • 8th:   18:30 - Town Route - Lunanhead direction

  • 20th: 19:00 - Alternative training - speed/hill session meet at Orchardbank

If anyone would like to help out or host a session then feel free to join in. During the summer when nights are lighter we have an abundance of routes in the countryside to suit all abilities. The club welcomes anyone to come along whether local, training for a run or just passing through.

Training sessions also include the 6 mile series, which handily is part of the 10k route, anyone is welcome to join in.

Forfar Road Runners promote safe running at all times and provides all members with Hi Viz Kit which must be worn on all club night runs, it is further more recommended to be worn on all winter training runs, in addition a signing in register has been started, all runners are requested to use it to assist identify who may still may be out on the route.
